Knock Knock

The devil must be near. I can hear him in my ear.

“Do it.”

Thoughts keep lingering on my mind. Moments of doubt come in and shout.

“Do it.”

The devil must be near. He’s ringing in my ear.

The World without your writings would have one less ugly caterpillar. lol. Oh, don’t get all in a huff. Let me explain….your words, your world, real or not, as put forth by your heart in the form of words, presents a reality for the main character in this story, as a heartbroken girl who only wants to be loved. A girl who has given her all to give love, and receive love equally or even a hundredth of the amount of love she gives. And when the unnamed villain in this story does not return her love, she questions all people, all things, and life itself. She wanders with an unknown purpose, in her journey to find an understanding why she is only an ugly caterpillar. Why doesn’t the black raven want her anymore. Why is the world and people so mean and disrespectful to her. Why, why, why, can’t she be like all the other caterpillars, she asks! What she doesn’t understand yet, because it’s not revealed until a later chapter in this story, is that she is not a normal ugly caterpillar. She is special. She is not a caterpillar who will always be a caterpillar. Within her she has secretly been leading up to this very moment in her journey. Things within her have been secretly developing, transforming, without her control or understanding. It is her path, her destiny, her fate, her true life’s journey and she can not stop it from happening. She takes a deep breath, attaches herself to her milkweed. She turns into the most beautiful butterfly every seen by any! The other caterpillars are jealous. The raven can not catch her as she is fast in flight and free. The ugly little caterpillar has survived the attacks by all the disrespectful people and the belittling by the raven for so very long, but never again! Our beautiful butterfly is free! To float high up, looking down upon all those who held her down in the past. She floats high upon the warm oceans breeze, spreading her wings, free from all negativity, and she never looks back. Our butterfly, is on her way to becoming a princess. For in this land, anything is possible!

Wow. So many beautiful words for an ugly caterpillar. I truly appreciate all you’ve said and I hope you do not stay in hiding for long. As your words filled my tiny body with a sense of ambition I’ve been searching for. Yes, I walk trying to search for my purpose and will always love in a way I don’t know how to describe. I write because it brings clarity. Peace within this caterpillar that has consistently been disturbed with many mountains she continues to climb. Whoever you are thank you.

“For in this land, anything is possible”………….sometimes, the best place to hide is in plain sight. Where hiding isn’t hiding, but merely standing still. So many move so fast in life yet, never move an inch. While others who appear to be standing still, are moving so very fast and far. In the blink of an eye they have scaled the tallest mountain. In the blink of an eye, they are out of sight. The story, the ugly caterpillar, the black raven, the negativity, all exist when moving so fast. The hope, the dreams, the butterfly, the future…..all exist in the present, if only looked at standing still. For to have inside of you, in both of us, the power and strength of wisdom, kindness, and an intense love to give to whom we choose is a rareness that few get to experience. With great power, comes great pride in who we are. Pride which commands respect. Respect which is mandatory. By standing still, we are moving forward together hand in hand. The journeys have crossed paths going in the same direction weaving back and forth like a golden braid being formed into one journey. One love with two hearts. But what has become of the raven, the keeper and manipulator of the ugly caterpillar’s heart? Will she turn back? Leaving the brilliance of what is ahead, only to return to the darkness behind? Does she choose the milkweed with the non-special caterpillars and the evil raven? Or does she choose to float on the wind, as the beautiful butterfly to the pinnacles of happiness, new adventures, with her destined true love, joined as two souls completing one love together on one journey? And so the story continues….
